Wits To Edge City For Swazi International’s Signature?

The Siya crew has been informed that Bidvest Wits are close to completing the signing of Swaziland International Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze, who was previously linked with Polokwane City.

The 24-year-old dribbling wizard has been heavily linked with a move to South Africa for some time. The Siya crew previously reported that the Mbabane Swallows man was earmarked for a move to Rise and Shine while Wits were also closely monitoring the player.

Following a trial period with the Clever Boys, sources have indicated that the midfielder has impressed the Wits technical team and that he is close to completing a deal with the club.

“I can tell you that Polokwane were looking at him but are no longer in a position to sign him. He has however impressed at Wits and it looks like they will be making an offer to sign him,” said a source.

Meanwhile, the crew has reported that the side is also keen on signing Mxolisi Macuphu from Chippa United in a bid to bolster the squad following a disappointing season where they finished in 13th spot.
