A switch from Chippa United to Bidvest Wits could be finalised for one of the top midfielders in the PSL, with sources indicating that a possible deal has already been agreed to in principle.
Earlier today (Wednesday), the Siya crew reported that Chippa’s Bantu Mzwakali has been spotted at Wits, with an indication that he could be close to being the club's new signing.
News reaching the Siya crew is that Mzwakali has been joined by Mxolisi Macuphu – also from the Chilli Boys – at the Sturrock Park outfit.
As previously reported on the Soccer Laduma website, The Students have been keen on signing Macuphu from Chippa, with the talks already ongoing between the parties involved in the potential deal.
“Wits players have reported back at the club today (Wednesday), and Mxolisi Macuphu is one of the players spotted there with them. Wits are keen on signing the player from Chippa and the negotiations between the two clubs have been ongoing. The negotiations are at an advanced stage from what I understand. You can expect to hear about a possible deal before the end of the week,” said the source.
The Clever Boys have lost the likes of Ben Motshwari and Vincent Pule, who have joined Orlando Pirates.
