Wits Want To Tie Down Midfielder On A New Deal
Bidvest Wits Are Looking To Extend The Stay Of One Of Their Midfielders
Bidvest Wits are keen to hold on to one of their midfielders as they look to avoid his services being scooped up on a free at the end of the 2017/18 campaign.
Daylon Claasen will see his deal with Wits come to an end on June 30 this year, after putting pen to paper on a one-year deal during the July/August transfer window last year.
However, according to sources, after the player has proven to be one of Head Coach Gavin Hunt’s consistent players in the squad, the Siya crew was informed that the Clever Boys are looking to extend the player’s stay beyond the current 2017/18 season.
The former 1860 Munich player has made 21 appearances in all competitions for the Clever Boys and has played in all 90-minutes of Wits’ current five league match unbeaten run.
However, he is not the only player who will see his existing contract with Wits come to an end on June 30.
The likes of James Keene, Eleazar Rogers and Moeneeb Josephs are all currently in their final five months of their stay with the Braamfontein outfit and it remains to be seen when the 2017 Telkom Knockout champions will confirm any contract extensions.
