Kaizer Chiefs’ Virgil Vries is likely to be replaced by a former Chippa United goalkeeper at Baroka FC.
Since parting ways with Vries, who has since gone on to join Chiefs in this transfer window, Baroka have been in search of a goalkeeper to add to their roster for the 2018/19 season.
The Siya crew has been alerted to the Limpopo club’s interest in Zama Dlamini – the former Chippa goalkeeper who was previously also on the books of Mamelodi Sundowns at some stage in his career.
The Secunda-born player is already with Baroka where he is undergoing training under head coach Wedson Nyirenda and his technical team.
Having finished last season with Highlands Park, where he was on loan from Chippa from January, the 26-year-old shot-stopper’s return to the PSL is likely to be with Bakgaga, according to Siya sources in the know.
Contacted for comment, Baroka CEO Morgan Mammila confirmed the player’s presence at the club. As confirmed by the CEO, the club will be waiting on the advice of the technical team regarding the player’s future.
