Wits Defender Hit By Knee Blow
Anthony Gordinho Could Miss A Chunk Of Bidvest Wits' Season
A Bidvest Wits defender could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines after sustaining an injury to his knee.
The 22-year-old Anthony Gordinho joined the Clever Boys at the start of the season from SuperSport United, however, hasn’t managed to tie down a regular spot in Gavin Hunt’s side as their campaign has progressed.
Gordinho did play a role in helping Wits reach the first round of the CAF Champions League as they beat Pamplemousses in the preliminary round, but it appears that he won’t be able to follow that up with a performance against Primeiro de Agosto.
The versatile former University of Pretoria player confirmed on his social media that he had sustained an injury to his knee, saying that it was a torn MCL.
Given his type of injury, there is no specific date set for his return, although he will be hoping to try and play again before the 2017/18 season comes to an end in a few months.
