There could be yet another coaching casualty in the DStv Premiership, the Siya crew has learnt.
Despite just having passed the halfway mark in the 2020/21 season, there have already been numerous coaching changes. Amazulu have roped in Benni McCarthy, TS Galaxy brought back Owen Da Gama and TTM have parted ways with Joel Masutha.
These are just a few examples of the ever-revolving PSL coaching merry-go-round.
Now, Siya sources in the know have confirmed that Bloemfontein Celtic head coach John Maduka is another coach whose job is in jeopardy.
Siya sources have revealed that Celtic hierarchy have shown growing concerns over the lack of results by the Malawian, which sees the club currently occupy 12th position on the DStv premiership standings.
In addition to their dismal league form, Celtic have also been dumped out of the Nedbank Cup after they were thrashed 4-0 by Cape Town City this past weekend.
It appears that Celtic are still suffering from a cup hangover following their loss to Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 final back in December.
Since their appearance in the final - which was their second in a matter of months, Celtic have picked up just two wins in the nine matches that ensued, which cast heavy doubts over Maduka’s reign, with indications that the Mangaung could part ways with the 50-year-old.
Maduka was appointed as the new Celtic coach back in June 2020, following the resignation of Lehlohonolo Seema, who joined Chippa United at the time.
