Gamal Back Amid Growing Interest Elsewhere

Egyptian international, Amr Gamal, is back in training with Bidvest Wits today, but there could still be the possibility of a move overseas on the cards for the forward.

There was plenty of talk linking the striker with a move this window after he fell down the pecking order under Gavin Hunt, with SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates two teams known to have been weighing up a possible move for the Al Ahly loanee.

Now though, the 26-year-old is looking to try and force his way back into Hunt’s plans as he returns to training, and is keen to return to the team when they come up against Kaizer Chiefs this coming weekend.

However, while the South African transfer window is closed, the Siya crew has been informed that there is some interest in Gamal from both the Russian Premier League and the American Major Soccer League, two divisions where the windows are still open.

The Russian deadline is on February 22nd, while American teams have until May to get their business done.
