AmaZulu’s Johnson In Jeopardy?

AmaZulu’s Cavin Johnson Under Pressure

By Soccer Laduma - Jan 12, 2018 01:06 PM

The Siya crew has been informed by a source in the know that management at AmaZulu FC are believed to be discussing the immediate future of Head Coach Cavin Johnson.

Johnson was appointed as the head coach of AmaZulu following their reintroduction to the Premier Soccer League last year, however, according to Siya sources, the club is believed to be in discussions about the mentor’s immediate future at the club.

Sources have added that the club will be keeping a close eye on how Johnson fares over the next few fixtures, with indications that should the results not be positive, management could consider finding the next best man for the job at the helm.

AmaZulu have found themselves at the bottom half of the league table, currently in 13th placed after winning just three of their 14 Absa Premiership fixtures played thus far.

After making a return to Mzansi’s top flight following the purchase of Thanda Royal Zulu’s PSL status, the KwaZulu-Natal-based club will want to avoid going back to the National First Division.

AmaZulu are just two points away from Ajax Cape Town, who are currently last place on the league standings and it remains to be seen whether management at the club will look to make a change to the team’s technical bench in order to improve their form.

The team was doing well with Nomvete and Khanyeza. Coaches can build and destroy a team.

I agree with amazulu management on that one not like chiefs who keep on supporting underachieving coach for three years hoping that he will turn things around.I say do something before you get relegated as God help those who help themselves.

Sundowns’ Oupa Manyisa is Look Forward To Pirates Game!! Whilst most players would dread to meet their former clubs, it’s not the case with former Orlando Pirates star Oupa Manyisa who now plays for Mamelodi Sundowns. The 29 year old says he can’t wait to play against his former club because of the energy in the game when they play Sundowns. “When I was at Pirates, I enjoyed playing against Sundowns because there was always a good atmosphere and the stadium is always full,” Manyisa said. It seems Manyisa thinks a Pirates vs Sundowns game is more exciting than Soweto Derby. “People always complain that the Soweto derby is always a draw, but Pirates and Sundowns is an open game. Each team is attacking because both want to score and win. “Football is my job so I have to go there [and] enjoy myself and make sure I help my team. There is nothing to be concerned about Pirates because I am no longer there; I have a new home now.”
