AmaZulu are at risk of losing a key member of the current squad, as the season nears an end, the Siya crew has learnt.
Having joined Usuthu in 2020 after his surprise exit from Orlando Pirates, Augustine Mulenga is nearing the end of his contract with the Durban-based club.
The 32-year-old Zambian will see the two-year contract he signed in October 2020 come to an end, and although the KwaZulu-Natal giants are keen on extending the deal, the club is at risk of losing the forward on a free, as interested clubs could jump at the opportunity to acquire his services in the coming weeks.
“AmaZulu could be at risk of losing Augustine Mulenga as his contract is coming to an end and isn’t yet sure if it will be extended. The club hasn’t yet confirmed if the player’s deal will be extended and he is currently injured,” said the source.
Mulenga has featured in 13 matches in the DStv Premiership for Usuthu this season and has scored three goals.
