AmaZulu’s season doesn’t seem to be getting any better, with talk of five players believed to have been axed and told to train on their own after their Nedbank Cup defeat…
Usuthu made nine changes going into their game against Bloemfontein Celtic over the weekend as they sought to prioritise Absa Premiership survival over progression in the Nedbank, and went on to lose the game 4-1 as Siwelele marched into the Round of 16.
Now, according to Siya sources, five players who started that game have now been sent to train on their own indefinitely by the club’s management, with a whole host of MultiChoice Diski Challenge players now set to move into the Jozef Vukusic’s matchday squad.
The Siya crew has been informed that Lehlohonolo Majoro, Nhlanhla Vilakazi, Michael Morton, Thembela Sikhakhane and Jabu Ncobeni have all now been told that they won’t be considered for selection for the time being, although they are still – as things stand – contracted to the club.
AmaZulu have won just six of their last 30 games in all competitions stretching back to mid-March 2019 as they battle for form, and their reliance on top scorer, Bongi Ntuli, has seen them become almost a one-man team.
Next up for the club is a clash with Golden Arrows as they look to climb out of the relegation places (they’re currently 15th), and a win could take them as high as 12th if other results go their way.
