Transfer Update: Ajax Opt Not To Extend Striker's Stay
Ajax Cape Town Have Not Extended Nathan Paulse’s contract.
Ajax Cape Town have opted not to extend their contract with their veteran striker, this after four years of service since his return to the Urban Warriors.
Nathan Paulse was promoted through the youth structures at the Mother City-based club in 2000, where he went on to ply his trade for the Urban Warriors in Mzansi’s top flight, Hammarby IF in Sweden, Bloemfontein Celtic, Platinum Stars, SuperSport United, and then returned to the Urban Warriors in July 2013.
However, after four years since his return to the Cape Town-based club, the player has not had his spell extended, following the end of his contract with the Urban Warriors on June 30.
Siya sources have indicated that the 35-year-old is yet to make a decision about whether or not he will be considering hanging up his boots as a professional football player.
The striker scored five goals for Ajax in the 2016/17 season, just one less than the club’s top goalscorer, Prince Nxumalo and indications are that the Urban Warriors view their latest acquisition, Sedwyn George, as a replacement for the departed Paulse, in order to bring in the goals.
Now, it remains to be seen whether Paulse will be considering retirement or if the veteran striker still has one more year left of professional football in his legs.
