Could Ajax Lose These Players To Chiefs, Sundowns And Co?
Ajax Cape Town Could Be At Risk Of Losing These Players
Ajax Cape Town are at risk of having the likes of Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns approach them for some of their key players, should their circumstances remain unchanged.
The Urban Warriors have been tied up in court cases with the Premier Soccer League after the association punished the club for the ineligible fielding of Tendai Ndoro.
The ruling saw Ajax relegated from the Absa Premiership, having docked seven points, with Platinum Stars taking their place in the play-offs.
Ajax’s appeal to interdict the play-offs has since been dismissed by the judge, with sources indicating that the Urban Warriors have not yet given up on their legal fight.
However, should their situation remain unchanged and the club is set to campaign in the National First Division next season, they might be faced with a strong possibility of losing some of their key players.
Mosa Lebusa has recently been heavily linked with a move to both Chiefs and Sundowns and these Gauteng teams could pounce on the player in the upcoming July/August transfer window.
Brandon Petersen has also been linked with a move to Sundowns, with the Siya crew recently revealing that he has caught the interest of the Tshwane giants.
As reported in the past, Ajax are keen on having Zakri on a permanent basis, although it is likely that the player may return to Sundowns, with the club set to make a decision on his immediate future.
Head Coach Muhsin Ertugral has also expressed his desire to hold on to the services of on loan striker, Fagrie Lakay, however, it is possible that the player may be plying his trade elsewhere next season.
Travis Graham will see his contract with Ajax come to an end on June 30, and after not playing any competitive football for the entire season it remains to be seen where his next destination will be.
Tercious Malepe is another player who Ajax are looking to have on a permanent basis, although it seems that the player could be returning to Orlando Pirates after June 30.
The club is only expected to confirm player movements once the July/August transfer window opens and it remains to be seen which of these players will remain at the club.
