Ajax Cape Town are believed to be showing interest in a former Cape Town City defender who is yet to make a decision about his immediate future.
City parted ways with Tshepo Gumede last month, confirming that they have opted against exercising the added one-year option on the player’s deal.

Gumede is currently a free agent, with sources since revealing that the Urban Warriors are looking to bring the player to the Mother City-based club.
Ajax are yet to know their fate in the new 2018/19 season, as there is still a possibility that they could be campaigning in the Premier Soccer League.
Judge Denise Fischer recently set aside Advocate William Mokhari’s award of docking points from Ajax, which saw them relegated from the Absa Premiership.
The Urban Warriors have been reinstated to 15th position on the league standings, with the results of the promotion/relegation play-offs now null and void.
However, the PSL have since confirmed that they will appeal the decision, with the matter referred back to FIFA.
With Ajax still at a chance to possibly campaign in the top flight next season, indications are that the Urban Warriors want to bring in as much experience and add the needed cover to their squad to avoid a repetition of last season’s showing.
