Why Chiefs Will Stumble To Sign Goalkeeper To Replace Khuzwayo…
A Stumbling Block In Kaizer Chiefs' Pursuit To Sign Reyaad Pieterse
There could be one thing in the way of Kaizer Chiefs signing a particular goalkeeper to replace Brilliant Khuzwayo.
Khuzwayo announced on May 12, that his time with Amakhosi will be coming to an end once his contract expires on June 30, this year, with the Soweto giants now set to find the next best man to take his place.
According to reports by the Siya crew in the past weeks, Chiefs are keen on bringing SuperSport United’s Reyaad Pieterse back to the club.
Pieterse parted ways with Amakhosi on June 30, in the year 2016 when his contract came to an end.
Now it seems that Chiefs are keen on having the 26-year-old back at the club, although the player’s price tag may be a stumbling block in their pursuit.
Chiefs are known for signing players on a free, as seen with their transfer policy in the past and according to sources in the know, SuperSport are looking at R4 million for Pieterse’s services.
The goalkeeper has one more year left on his contract with Matsatsantsa, with Pieterse heavily linked with an exit from the club.
However, with the R4 million price tag being placed on his services, it remains to be seen whether Chiefs will look to meet SuperSport’s demands.
