As he awaits his first Absa Premiership appearance of the season, one of Bloemfontein Celtic’s midfielders could well be on the move in the January transfer window.
Ryan de Jongh, who turned 30 towards the end of last year, has made the Siwelele matchday squad on six occasions in 2019/20 so far, but after playing more than 60 games in the last three seasons he’s believed to be growing discontented in the Free State.
The former Maritzburg United and Platinum Stars man is believed to be eyeing a potential move away from Celtic as he looks to try and get more game-time elsewhere, though it remains to be seen who his possible suitors are in the Absa Premiership.
As a combative midfielder, De Jongh is unlikely to be short of possible options as he weighs up his future if he does move on from Celtic, though he’ll be eager to finalise his future as soon as possible in order to make sure he gets his career back on track.
De Jongh has made more than 150 appearances in Premier Soccer League competitions over the years, and will be looking to add to that tally before the 2019/20 season is up.
