Tinkler Highlights Rest For His Bucs Players
Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler has highlighted the importance of affording his players a rest, after what has been a daunting few weeks for the Mayfair outfit.
The Buccaneers have just returned from Tunisia where they participated in a CAF Confederation Cup fixture against CS Sfaxien, a tie they won by a solitary goal courtesy of on-form Thabo Rakhale.
Pirates are by far the only SA team that have been involved in a lot of games and, the former Bafana Bafana midfield stalwart said they know fatigue can catch up with the players as they need to rest.
"You know most of the players have been playing without rest and we have to take it easy on the players. We know that there are more games coming and to do well in all these tournaments we have to manage the players very well. We know they need some rest," Tinkler concluded.
With the MTN8 and then the resumption of the 2015/16 Absa Premiership fast on approach after the Carling Black Label Cup, it remains to be seen how the Bucs mentor will shuffle his squad around.
