Reyaad Pieterse: 6.5
Deputised for the injured the injured Brilliant Khuzwayo, and was impressive in between the sticks, pulling off a number of crucial saves.
Kgotso Moleko: 6
Put in a solid showing at right back and hardly put a foot wrong.
Siboniso Gaxa: 6
Proved solid in the heart of the defence and certainly held his own against the Pirates attackers.
Siyanda Xulu: 6
Looked a little rusty in the early stages in his first Soweto derby, but solid for the rest of the game.
Tsepo Masilela: 6
Proved to solid throughout the game and kept Rakhale quiet down the flank.
Siphiwe Tshabalala: 6
Struggled in the early stages but had more of an influence as the game went on and forced Mhlongo into a few saves.
Reneilwe Letsholonyane: 7
Proved to be Chiefs' biggest threat on the field, played a key role in helping his side see more of the ball in the second half and popped up with a well-taken goal.
George Maluleka: 6
Not the best of games for Maluleka, worked hard in the first half but hardly had an impact going forward.
George Lebese: 6
Looked lively for Chiefs in the first half but faded as the second half went on.
David Zulu: 6
Hardly had an impact going forward, although he did squander a chance just before the halftime break.
Bernard Parker: 6
Worked tirelessly alongside Zulu, but was more influential in the second half, putting in a couple inviting crosses.
Willard Katsande: 6.5
Brought on shortly after the break and helped Chiefs regain a bit of dominance in the middle of the park.
Siphelele Mthembu: 6.5
Brought on after the hour mark and set up Letsholonyane's goal with a clever flick.
Keegan Ritchie: NA
Was only on the field for 10 minutes, although he did miss a penalty.
Sula Matovu: NA
Was not on the field long enough to receive a rating.
Orlando Pirates Ratings:
Brighton Mhlongo: 6.5
Pulled off a couple good saves during the 90 minutes, while he also proved to be the hero in the penalty shoot-out.
Happy Jele: 6
Struggled against Lebese in the early stages, but put in a solid showing in the second half.
Tshepo Gumede: 6
Hardly put a foot wrong in the heart of the defence and held his own against the Chiefs attack.
Siyabonga Sangweni: 6
Much like Gumede, Sangweni was solid throughout the 90 minutes and frustrated the likes of Zulu and Parker.
Patrick Phungwayo: 6
Put in a solid showing, as he deputised for Thabo Matlaba, although he hardly got forward.
Sifiso Myeni: 7
Looked lively down the left flank in the first half, scored a wonderful free-kick, although he did fade as the second half went on.
Issa Sarr: 6
Not the best of games from the Senegalese midfielder, who looked a little lost in the midfield.
Oupa Manyisa: 6
Manyisa was the conductor for the Buccaneers in the first half, although they were overrun in the midfield when Katsande came on.
Thabo Rakhale: 6
Proved to be a quiet showing from the Pirates winger, who hardly any joy against Masilela.
Thamsanqa Gabuza: 6
Looked lively during his 30-minute cameo but should have found the back of the net in the 16th minute when left one-on-one with Pieterse.
Lehlohonolo Majoro: 6
Hardly had any service to deal but failed to hit the target from close range after the hour-mark.
Tendai Ndoro: 6.5
Looked lively upfront and did well to worry the Chiefs back four, while his hold-up play was impressive.
Menzi Masuku: 6
Brought on in the 53rd minute but hardly made the desired impact.
Luvuyo Memela: 6
Replaced Myeni in the 68th minute and nearly won the game for Pirates in the closing stage when he forced Pieterse into a good save.

Brought on in the final 15 minutes and put in a solid showing in the middle of the park.
