Kaizer Chiefs striker, David Zulu, is confident the Amakhosi faithful believe he can contribute something to the team and is looking to repay their faith shown in him ahead of the Carling Black Label Cup this Saturday.
The 29-year-old joined the Glamour Boys from Chippa United in January but struggled for game time under Stuart Baxter in the second half of the 2014/15 PSL season.
Nevertheless, Chiefs fans have shown faith in the striker by voting him into the CBL Cup starting XI ahead of Siphelele Mthembu and new signings, Camaldine Abraw and Bongani Ndulula.
“They’ve voted for me to be part of the CBL Cup starting line-up. That means there is something they’ve seen in me that they believe I can contribute to the team.”
“I can’t really comment on whether I’m Chiefs material or not. I have to prove that on the field. If the coach gives me the chance to play, that’s when you can judge whether I’m Chiefs material or not. My job is on the field of play. I have to show what I’m capable of doing,” Zulu said in CBL interview with Soccer Laduma.
The Amakhosi take on Orlando Pirates at the FNB Stadium this Saturday with the game scheduled to get underway at 15h30.
Chiefs’ Starting XI: Khuzwayo, Moleko, Gaxa, Xulu, Masilela, Tshabalala (c), Letsholonyane, Maluleka, Lebese, Zulu, Parker.
