“Oarabile Moeti comes from Klerksdorp and he was the captain of the Bidvest Wits Academy U14 team and wearing the famous number 10 jersey. The boy is dubbed as the new Messi of South African football and he will be jetting off the country along with another talented boy in Atlegang Molobye, who is an attacking midfielder. Molobye is on the books of AmaTuks U17 team,” said Mashawa.

“The two boys have been granted an opportunity of a lifetime by Grasshoppers Zurich Academy to realise their dream of playing in Europe at an early age as part of fast-tracking their development. The boys will jet off soon, (for trials) and once all the protocols and procedures are met, especially with the current restrictions,” he added.

“Oarabile was developed by none other than former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates player Gert Schalkwyk, who happens to be a scout I work closely with,” confirmed Mashawa.

According to the current protocols, teens can sign contracts with clubs abroad when they turn 16 years old, provided that the player is in possession of European Union passport.

Without an EU passport, these players will be allowed to go on trials with the interested club and could potentially be signed when they turn 18.
