As he seems to be closing in on potentially making a move to the top flight of South African football, JDR Stars’ Moeketsi Makhanya is believed to have attracted inerest from more suitors.
As reported in edition 1151 of Soccer Laduma, Kaizer Chiefs have joined the race for the highly rated winger’s services, according to sources.
The 24-year-old has been in top form for JDR this season, creating and scoring goals for the ambitious side.
After he recently scored three goals against Jomo Cosmos, Makhanya attracted more interest as Absa Premiership clubs are keen on reinforcing their squads for the second half of the season, though JDR are likely to fight to keep him for their hopes of promotion.
JDR are in second place on the GladAfrica Championship, with the in-form winger having contributed seven goals to their campaign.
“Kaizer Chiefs have become the latest club to show interest in Moeketsi Makhanya. Pirates and Sundowns are also interested in the boy,” said the source.
The player’s representative, Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi, confirmed interest in the player from the Absa Premiership.
“There is interest in the player from big clubs. The boy is worth any amount that JDR Stars will want for him,” said Mulovhedzi.
“I just hope that the Bafana Bafana coach is watching the boy and is aware of what he has been doing for his club. The boy is the next big thing in South African football. He is scoring a lot of goals as a left winger,” the representative added.
