Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Cole Alexander has stressed the importance of not listening to the noise outside, as the Soweto giants look to bounce back from a run of three straight defeats in the DSTV Premiership.
Amakhosi are back in action this afternoon, just a few days after they let Golden Arrows come from behind to secure a victory over them. They take on Cape Town City at FNB Stadium today, a side yet to suffer defeat in 2022.
Under Gavin Hunt last season, Chiefs lost 10 league matches and they are currently just two away from equalling that record. They would certainly want to avoid reaching double figures in defeats.
“As players, we need to stick together and try not to listen to all the outside noise. As a team, we all have the same goal and none of us are as strong as all of us together. We need to be together, that’s the main thing here, unity. That’s what we need to get the results. We will keep fighting,” Alexander is quoted as saying on the Amakhosi website.
“We have got to go back to work, focus on the game at hand, do the video analysis of our opponents and fully focus on the next match. We must take the positives from the previous match and we must also learn from the things that didn’t go too well and fix them on the practice ground.”
