As Orlando Pirates will be aiming to finish the year on a high and in a better position on the log, the team will have to be cautious against suspensions that could hamper their chances of progress.
Going to the next match against Baroka FC next Saturday, the Buccaneers have four players who could miss the last fixture of the year against Black Leopards on December 21, as suspensions have become a norm for the side in recent matches.
With Thembinkosi Lorch already ruled out for the year, the technical team will hope that Ntsikelelo Nyauza, Fortune Makaringe and Vincent Pule don't get cautioned as the trio currently sit on three yellow cards each.
In reference to Lorch’s red card against Polokwane City on Tuesday, Pirates coach Rulani Mokwena said that the situation could have been avoided ‘with a little bit more emotional intelligence’, suggesting that the reigning Absa Premiership’s Footballer of the Season should have not retaliated after being fouled by an opponent.
The coach and his technical team will be preaching more of the same to the rest of the team to encourage the players to avoid unnecessary bookings and suspensions in their aim to improve the club’s position on the log.
