Bafana Bafana goalkeeper, Darren Keet, has signed a new deal with his Belgian club OH Leuven, the Siya crew has learnt.
Since last year, Keet has been with the Belgian outfit, having joined them on a one-year deal after parting ways with Bidvest Wits.
It has been confirmed to the Siya crew that the 30-year-old shot-stopper’s deal has been extended to keep the player at the club in Belgium's topflight.
“Keet has signed a new deal with OHL. For Keet, it was a one-year sacrifice in Belgian First Division B with the club and now they are back in the Pro League,” said the source.
Leuven have been promoted to the Jupiler Pro League after it was agreed by the authorities in Belgian football that the league would be extended from 16 to 18 clubs.
Meanwhile, Leuven are scheduled host Beerschot-Wilrijk – who are the other promoted club – tomorrow (Sunday) in a match that was meant to be the second leg of their promotion play-offs.
