A Premier Soccer League football agent has shared the challenges that go with securing deals during the transfer window in South Africa.
Sizwe Ntshangase, is one of the most respected agents in the PSL, especially in KwaZulu-Natal represents Sifiso Hlanti (Kaizer Chiefs), Makhehleni Makhaula (AmaZulu), Phumlani Ntshangase (Maritzburg United) and Xolani Silawula (Uthongathi FC).
Looking at the recent January transfer window, Ntshangase is of the opinion that South African teams no longer want to splash the cash in January.
"It wasn't that busy, this transfer (window), teams were renewing and promoting youngsters. Here in South Africa it is really hard, it is now better to go into the market in other countries," Ntshangase told the Siya crew.
"Nowadays, teams want to make more money than spending. They don't want to spend in January, they don't see the need."
The agent feels Mamelodi Sundowns is still the only team that still believes in spending in January and that makes them a dominant side in the league.
"A team like Sundowns are still going to dominate in the market because they still believe in spending. They know what is needed to boost their team, which it becomes challenging to other teams."
