PSL Promotion Play-Offs

Result: Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila 1-3 Black Leopards

Date: 12 September 2020

Venue: Bidvest Stadium

Black Leopards moved three points clear at top of the play-off standings with a 3-1 win over Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila on Saturday afternoon.

Lidoda Duvha made just one change from their narrow win over Ajax Cape Town, as veteran midfielder Robert Ng'ambi took the place of Andriamirado Andrianarimanana.

Leopards were finding good chances in the early stages which resulted in the opening goal on 20 minutes, as Mwape Musonda found the back of the net with a free header at the back post.

Musonda thought he had doubled Leopards' lead with five minutes left of the first stanza after scoring with a tap-in from a cross at the back post but the goal was disallowed for offside.

Thembisani Nevhulamba levelled matters for Vhadau Vha Damani on the stroke of half-time with a sweeping strike past Ndlovu on the far side of the box, from a quick counter-attack.

Lidoda Duvha restored their lead deep moments later from the same routine, as Khomotso Masia powered home a free header in the centre of the six-yard box.

Chances were hard to come by in the opening exchanges of the second stanza but Ng'ambi should have added a third for Leopards on the hour-mark after receiving a cut-back in the box but he mistimed his shot.

Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo came close to pulling TTM level in the last 12 minutes after going clear at the near post with a flick over a defender but he lacked composure and volleyed his left-footed shot over the bar.

Lucky Nelukau's troops almost snatched the equaliser in the last minute with a scramble inside the box leading to a header that was cleared off the line, coming off the crossbar.

Musonda secured the three points for Lidoda Duvha in stoppage time with a header that was helped into the back of the net by shot-stopper Simon Mamudzidi as Leopards went three points clear at the top of the mini-log while TTM were left without points.

Here's how they lined up:
