With the start of the league season drawing closer, what’s the latest with South African attacker, George Lebese, as he looks to kickstart his career again overseas…

Lebese played for Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United locally before opting to make a switch to the United Soccer League with Colorado Rapids, and after a tough couple of years in his career, he’s hoping for a fresh start in America.
Having joined up with the team at the end of January, Alan Koch and his technical team are working hard to get the 31-year-old game ready before the season officially gets underway next month, and he’s already gotten a solid 45 minutes under his belt.
Lebese was handed a starting berth by his South African coach, Koch, when the Switchbacks went up against the Colorado Rapids Soccer Academy last week, playing the first half as they went on to win 2-1 in their first preseason friendly.
Now, with games against Louisville City and Union Omaha coming up in the next couple of weeks, the former Bafana Bafana man will be eager to get more time on the field in the build-up to the USL kickoff on March 8 against OKC Energy.
The attacker looks set to wear the number 17 jersey that he previously wore for both Chiefs and Sundowns, and has been seen training in it since his arrival in the States.
