Done Deal: Serero Completes Dutch Move
Thulani Serero has completed his move to Dutch Eredivisie outfit, Vitesse Arnhem, after passing a medical at the club earlier today.
The Siya crew reported previously that the 27-year-old was set to finalise his move following the agreement of a three-year contract in the Netherlands and that has now been completed.
Vitesse, who finished fifth last season, are beefing up their squad as they prepare to do battle in the UEFA Europa League next season and have no doubt signed Serero because of his experience both domestically and in the Champions League.
Bafana Bafana head coach, Stuart Baxter, recently told Serero that he missed out on the squad to face Nigeria purely because of his lack of game time, but he will be hoping to rectify that now at Vitesse.
The former Ajax Cape Town man moved to Holland in 2011 and was a regular for Ajax during the 2013/14 and 2014/15 campaigns, but he dropped off the radar in the last couple of seasons and wasn’t even registered in 2016/17.
Vitesse is due to play KV Oostende in a preseason friendly next month in a game that could potentially see ‘Cream’ don the jersey of his new club for the first time against South African compatriot, Andile Jali.
