Revolution - The SA U20s Making Waves In Europe...

The future of South African football looks to be in good hands at present, with an increasing amount of young players plying their trade in some of Europe’s most well-known football countries.

Check out nine of SA's brightest overseas prospects in the gallery above!

Right now there are youngsters from Mzansi contracted to teams in the English Premier League, Germany’s Bundesliga, French Ligue 1 and the Dutch Eredivisie, as well as clubs in Portugal and Denmark, all of whom are aged 20 or younger.

Though only Khanya Leshabela (Leicester City) and Kobamelo Kodisang (Sanjoanense) are with Thabo Senong’s U20s in Niger at present, there are plenty of other young players that qualified to represent Mzansi at the tournament.

In England’s top-flight, alongside Leshabela, there is Siph Mdlalose at Southampton, Nikola Tavares at Crystal Palace and Tyrique Bartlett of Newcastle United, all of whom have shown an interest in representing Bafana Bafana in the future despite having spent large parts of their lives in Europe.

Over in Germany is the young defender, Brad Cross, who is at Schalke, as well as Tashreeq Matthews of Borussia Dortmund (currently on loan with Utrecht in the Netherlands), while Dean Solomons and Leo Thethani are moving through the ranks at Ajax Amsterdam in the Eredivisie.

One of the most recent moves was that of teenager, Lyle Foster, who completed a move to Monaco recently, while Liam Jordan seems to be progressing nicely with HB Køge in Denmark.

Which young player are you most excited about?
