BK Hacken’s new South African signing, Tefu Mashamaite, is only expected to make his debut for the club next month as he awaits his work permit.
When Mashamaite’s move to Sweden was confirmed by the club they seemed to say that his work permit had already been granted, although it now appears that that may have been lost in translation.
‘Masha’, the reining PSL Player and Defender of the Year, signed a two and a half year deal with Hacken earlier this month, bringing to an end months of speculation about his future. The centre back is still in South Africa at present, and gave away R25,000 to a childrens home today, however is expected to leave for Sweden in the next few days.
Now, according to the club’s football manager, Sonny Karlsson, they say that they are expecting the 30-year-old to arrive next week.
Speaking to the Siya crew, Karlsson said, “We’ll have him here next week, it will probably be two or three weeks before his work permit though, so it’ll be after the international break when he can actually play.”
Interestingly, Hacken’s first game after the international break later this month is against Matthew Rusike’s Halmstad, which could see the two former Amakhosi players go head to head in the Allsvenskan.
