Former Bafana Bafana captain, Steven Pienaar has provided the third-most assists in the English Premier League by any African player, since 1992.
The 32-year-old, who is currently sidelined due to injury, has made 194 appearances for Everton and Tottenham and set up 33 goals.
Schillo’s amount of assists has only been beaten by fellow Africans, Emmanuel Adebayor (35) and Didier Drogba (55) as revealed by Opta.
Pienaar has been playing in England’s top flight since 2007 and is the only South African on the Top 10 list.
He beat the likes of Nwankwo Kanu (29), Yakubu Aiyegbeni (26), Yaya Toure (25), El Hadji Diouf (25), Salomon Kalou (23), Geremi Njitap (23) and Shola Ameobi (20).
This season, however, he could only add two assists to his tally with his last coming in a 3-1 win over Burnley on 26 October 2014.
Pienaar has been sidelined with injury since December 15, but is reportedly close to returning to first-team action.
