Former Bafana Bafana midfielder, Steven Pienaar, has enjoyed a career that has taken him from Ajax Cape Town in the PSL to different clubs around the world, including Ajax Amsterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie and Everton in the English Premier League.
At the peak of his career, while with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, Pienaar’s market value escalated to €11 million (R177.9 million) in 2011.
However, as Pienaar’s spell with Tottenham had been characterised by injuries, he returned to Everton and firstly on loan in January 2012, before completing a permanent switch to The Toffees in July of the same year for a reported transfer fee of £4.5 million.
According to German-based football website, Transfermarkt.com, these are the CONVERTED values from Euros to Rands for the Westbury-born player.
