Former Bafana Bafana captain, Steven Pienaar, is one of the best players he has ever played with, claims Everton right-back Seamus Coleman.
The 26-year-old, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United, has named 'Schillo' alongside England left-back, Leighton Baines, as two of the best players he has come across.
“I’ve played with so many good players with Ireland and with Everton. It would be difficult to pick out one because I’ve played with so many good players,” he told a Junior Fans’ Forum on Everton’s official website.
“Obviously the likes of Leighton Baines, with me being a full-back, he’s been absolutely brilliant in the Premier League. Steven Pienaar, when I joined the club, Louis Saha, they were top players.
“Then with Ireland, I’ve played with Damien Duff and Robbie Keane. It’s hard to pick one because I’ve been lucky enough to play with a lot of good players.”
Pienaar has been struggling with recurring injuries this season and only featured in 10 games, starting a mere five of them.
English media have linked the 32-year-old with a move to Real Sociedad, where he would reconnect with his former boss, David Moyes. However, nothing concrete has been reported to date.
