South African midfielder Ayanda Patosi was his attacking self down the left flank as Lokeren played to an entertaining 3-3 draw against Gent in a Belgium Pro League match at Daknamstadion on Sunday.
Patosi played the entire 90 minutes, but saw his side go behind early on after Moses Simon gave Gent the lead in the sixth minute.
Lokeren, though, quickly drew level after an own goal from Rami Gershon made the score 1-1 in the tenth minute.
Simon grabbed his second goal in the 16th minute to restore Gent’s lead, but parity was restored two minutes before the interval courtesy of a Killian Overmeire.
Simon completed his hat-trick for Gent in the 72nd minute, but once again the lead did not last long as Hans Vanaken equalised for Gent for the third time, 3-3.
The result leaves Patosi’s team in eighth place on the table with 34 points, two points adrift of seventh placed Genk.
Lokeren are in action again next week Saturday when they travel to KV Oostende.
In other South African news, Thulani Serero did not feature for Ajax Amsterdam in their 1-0 loss to Vitesse on Sunday due to a groin strain.
The result sees Ajax fall further behind league leaders PSV and now sit in second place, nine points adrift.
