A South African youngster has signed a deal with a club in Portugal as he continues to make a name for himself as a professional footballer.
Nkanyiso Shinga, a product of the KZN Football Academy, has signed for Victoria Setubal U19 team in Portugal.
Shinga, 18, is a defender and has formed part of the South African U17 team under Coach Molefi Ntseki's mentorship in recent months.
He has been signed after impressing the Portuguese team’s scouts during the KZN Football Academy's recent tour to Portugal.
KZN Football Academy confirmed the player's deal with the Portuguese outfit on their official Twitter account.
“Nkanyiso Shinga has signed for Victoria Setubal U19 in Portugal. South African U17 international impressed during the KZN Football Academy tour in Portugal (Edited),” tweeted KZN Football Academy.
The KZN academy has further confirmed that two of their other players, in Philani Jaca (18) and Sphephelo Sithole (19), have also signed for the Victoria de Setubal, with Jaca set to turn out for the U19 team while Sithole is with the U23 side.
