A South African youngster, Mswati Mavuso, has attracted interest from overseas, as reported in the latest Soccer Laduma.
The former SA U17 national team midfielder is said to be on the radar of OGC Nice in France. Big PSL clubs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs have both been linked with the youngster in recent months.
The 17-year-old had been on the books of Glendene United in the ABC Motsepe League in Cape Town. With the player now a free agent after parting ways with the Mother City outfit, as confirmed by a source close to him, the French club is interested in his services.
“There is a club from France that is interested in Mswati Mavuso. The club’s name is OGC Nice. The club specifically asked for a young and talented midfielder and was informed about Mavuso’s availability. They are keen on him.
“They want him to start with their youth team with a view to preparing him for the first team, according to their standards and how they do things. It would be a big opportunity for the player if he can get the deal and leave for France. The boy is currently in Johannesburg and training on his own,” said the source.
Mavuso’s agent, Gerald Baloyi, confirmed the interest in the player, as reported in edition 1048 of Soccer Laduma.
