Dean Furman’s Doncaster Rovers moved up to tenth on the English League One table after an impressive 5-0 drubbing of Crawley Town at Checkatrade.com Stadium on Tuesday night.
Furman played the entire 90 minutes and was solid in the heart of the midfield as his picked up their tenth league win of the season.
It was a slow start to the match for Doncaster, but Andy Butler opened the scoring in the 38th minute to give Furman’s team a 1-0 lead at the break.
Doncaster took the game away from Crawley in the second half with Richard Wellens scoring their second ten minutes after the restart, 2-0.
Nathan Tyson made it 3-0 in the 64th minute before Harry Forrester confirmed the win with the fourth goal in the 73rd minute.
The icing on the cake was Doncaster’s fifth goal in the first minute of added time after the 90 courtesy of a strike from Curtis Main, 5-0.
The win sees Furman’s team up to tenth place on the table with 39 points from 28 matches, but a win in their next outing against Yeovil (combined with results going their way in other matches) could see them move as high as fifth.
Elsewhere in League One on Tuesday night, South African Kgosietsile Ntlhe had to watch from the bench as his Peterborough United side lost 2-1 to Gillingham at London Road Stadium.
Ntlhe was an unused substitute in Peterborough’s 13th loss of the season which sees them drop to 13th place on the table with 38 points.
