South African Kamohelo Mokotjo saw his Dutch side Twente fall further behind on the Eredivisie table after a 2-0 loss to ADO Den Haag at the Kyocera Stadion on Wednesday night.
Mokotjo played the entire 90 minutes of the surprise loss to a team fighting to stay out of the relegation zone.
Mokotjo was one of the better players in the Twente team as he worked his magic down the left flank, but despite creating numerous chances for his teammates they could not finish.
Oleksandr Lakovenko opened the scoring for ADO Den Haag in the 13th minute before Roland Alberg made certain of the win with their second goal in the 91st minute.
The loss sees Twente drop to sixth place on the Dutch Eredivisie table, behind AZ who are one point above them.
Twente are in action again this coming Saturday in another league match against Excelsior.
There was one other South African in action on Wednesday night as May Mahlangu made his debut for Turkish club Konyaspor.
He came on for five minutes in their 0-0 draw against Genclerbirligi which sees Konyaspor qualify for the last 16 of the Turkish Cup competition.
