Israel Horror Show To See Xulu Return?

A return to the Premier Soccer League could be on the cards for Siyanda Xulu, following his horrific experience in Israel.

Xulu was set to return for pre-season with his Hapoel Tel Aviv side following a brief break in South Africa after a successful first season with the club.

But what was supposed to be an easy transition back to the country he had been playing his trade in for the last year, turned into a nightmare for the former Kaizer Chiefs defender.

According to information provided to the Siya crew, Xulu was detained at the Ben Gurion International airport and questioned before being denied entrance into the country ‘due to COVID-19 restrictions’.

However, the Siya crew has learnt that all the COVID-19 protocols were followed, especially with the player being vaccinated in Israel – but the crew understands that the issue was with a document provided by the club, that could not be validated by the Israeli immigration.

The defender took to Instagram to share his side of the ordeal, revealing that he is set to return to Mzansi following the ill-treatment he received.

“A day to forget. Never thought I’ll be treated this way when I’m only human, thanks for the love and encouraging words from the fans, unfortunately I’m going back home,” Xulu revealed in his post.

A faction of the Hapoel fans showed their support for the 29-year-old as they quickly took to social media pleading with the authorities to allow Xulu into the country with the hashtag #FreeSiyanda.

The club has remained silent on the matter on all of their official social media pages as well as the club’s website. The Siya crew understands that Xulu’s camp will be in contact with Tel Aviv over the next 24 hours.

Xulu is understood to be on his way to Mzansi, and it now remains to be seen whether he will terminate his contract with the club in favour of a return to the PSL, where he will undoubtedly not be short of any suitors.
