Shabba Says Farewell…
Nobody knows where Siphiwe Tshabalala will be playing his football next season, but the Kaizer Chiefs legend said goodbye to the Turkish Super Lig after his side were relegated.
The veteran midfield man put in a starring performance over the weekend as BB Erzurumspor picked up a 2-0 win over Kayserispor on the final day of the season, however the goals – one of which was assisted by ‘Shabba’ – was not enough to keep them in the top-flight.
There has already been talk of another club for the ex-Bafana Bafana international elsewhere in Europe, and his representatives have stressed that he won’t be coming back to South Africa, however he did say his goodbyes on social media as the final game came to a close on Sunday.
He said on his official Instagram account, “Bidding farewell to the Süper Lig. Thank you to the Erzurum fans for your undying love and support. Thank you to everyone back at home for your love, support and heartfelt messages. Blessed to have you guys. The journey continues.”
Tshabalala made 17 league appearances for Erzurumspor since making the switch from Chiefs last year, and – despite the fact that he will turn 35 in September – it appears that he has no intention of hanging up his boots just yet.
