Confirmed: Heartbreak For Shabba In Turkey…

Siphiwe Tshabalala shone during BB Erzurumspor’s victory in Turkey over the weekend, however it wasn’t enough as the worst was confirmed in the Super Lig.
The 34-year-old played his 17th league game of the season as his side picked up 2-0 win over Kayserispor on Sunday, with the veteran South African setting up the opener on the way to them securing three points.
Tshabalala had more touches (94) & more possession (8%) than any other player on the field during the game, and he also made more passes (82) & accurate passes (79) than anybody else - one being his assist – while also having a 100% dribble success and 96.4% pass success.
Sadly for ‘Shabba’ though, the win was not enough as results elsewhere saw them relegated out of the Turkish top-flight, and they will now be hoping for a better 2019/20 campaign as they seek to bounce back by winning the second division and return to the big leagues.
There has been plenty of speculation regarding the former Bafana Bafana international’s future with Erzurumspor for next season, and though talk of him leaving has been denied, it remains to be seen whether he will be part of their push for promotion next season or not.
