The Portuguese league has a new South African to keep an eye on now after a Bidvest Wits starlet completed a switch to the Primeira Liga.
It was reported by the Siya crew is this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma that 19-year-old winger, Kobamelo Kodisang, was on the verge of joining SC Braga after impressing during a training spell at the club, and it has now been announced that he has finalised his move.
‘KK’ has already picked up more than 50 senior appearances in the Premier Soccer League and Portugal since making his debut for Platinum Stars under Cavin Johnson in 2015, and he has also featured at both the U17 and U20 World Cups at youth level for South Africa.
Translated from the official Braga website, a statement confirming his arrival read, “Kobamelo is a fast winger, is also 19 years old and was one of South Africa's highlights at the U-20 World Cup, where he faced Portugal and… Trincão.
“Arrives from Bidvest Wits South Africans, after playing on loan at AD Sanjoanense last season. In Serie B of the Portuguese Championship, played 24 games and scored 5 goals.”
Kodisang will start with Braga B as he looks to prove himself at one of Portugal’s top clubs and climb through the ranks into the senior team at some point in the future.
