It was a superb display from May Mahlangu in his attacking midfield role for IFK Goteborg as he inspired his team to come from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Atvidaberg in the Swedish Allsvenskan on Wednesday night.
Mahlangu played the full 90 minutes and saw his side go behind in 39th minute after a Ricardo Santos goal.
IFK Goteborg, though, mounted a bit of comeback after the break and motivated by Mahlangu’s creativity in the midfield they managed to score the equaliser through Gustav Engvall on the hour mark.
Sadly, IFK Goteborg could not go on to find the winner and had to settle for the draw which sees them up to fifth on the league table with 28 points from 19 games.
Elsewhere in the Swedish Allsvenskan, Mark Mayambela and Xolani Mdaki spent the night on the bench for their side Djurgarden who played to a 1-1 draw against AIK.
The result leaves Djurgarden seventh on the league table with 24 points from 19 games.
It was not a great night for Ayanda Nkili who came on as a second half substitute in Orebro’s 3-2 loss to Malmo FF in the Allsvenskan which dropped them into the relegation zone in 14th place with 19 points.
