Rowan Human was officially unveiled as a Tel Aviv player back in October after much speculation surrounding his future with a host of teams, including Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs, reportedly keen on his services.

At the time of his signing, his representative Paul Mitchell, Managing Director of Siyavuma Sports confirmed to the crew that the deal was done with a development plan in mind.

As part of that development plan, the Westbury-born midfielder will spend the first six months of his stay with the club on loan at the club’s feeder team Beitar Tel Aviv Bat-Yam, who compete in the Israeli Leumit League.

Human recently made his debut for Beitar in their 1-0 loss to Hapoel Rishon Lezion. The 19-year-old was introduced as a second half sub, although he could not prevent his team from ending up on the losing side.

Speaking to his club’s official website, ‘Mpho’ has opened up on his short European stay thus far.

"My team was good; I cannot complain about anything. When I came here, I saw after the first training (session) that there are a lot of quality players in the team and I am happy about that. Outside of training, it was not possible to do too many things because of the Coronavirus and lockdown,” Human said.

Meanwhile, the South Africa under-20 national team captain is not putting pressure on himself by setting unrealistic expectations, but is focused on his development as a player, as he looks to become a household name in Europe in the near future.

“Right now, it's hard to say about the expectations, but my feeling is that according to the players here on the team I can do good things in the league. As for me personally, I just hope to continue working hard and getting better as a young player so that I can be an excellent player in the years to come,” Human added.

Human is next in action this Friday, when fifth-placed Beitar take on fourth-placed Hapoel Nir Ramat HaSharon.
