Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane has shared his thoughts on CAF’s decision on the Champions League final venue, as well as his consistent love letters.
Mosimane refused to be drawn in on the matter when quizzed about CAF’s decision after his side’s 4-0 semi-final win over ES Setif on Saturday.
“I don’t make the rules. I follow what I’m told. I can’t do nothing with it, because even if I say I want this and it comes the other way? Do you think me talking will influence decision? My only thing is, there must be a neutral venue of course,” Mosimane told journalists at the time.

However, Mosimane went on a complete social media meltdown on Monday evening after CAF’s announcement that the final will be hosted in Morocco.
Mosimane’s Twitter timeline was littered with retweets by the 57-year-old suggesting that there is corruption within Africa’s football governing authority, headed by his former boss, Patrice Motsepe.
“When the CAF Champions League group stages games were finished, rumours were saying SA is hosting. Hao, jikijiki, after semi-finals were decided, there was a loud silence on the country to host the final. Then after the first leg of the semi-finals, suddenly Morocco is hosting,” Mosimane tweeted.
In addition, ‘Jingles’ revealed that he was still on the receiving end of letters which came just before his crucial CAF Champions League semi-final clash.
“By the way I consistently got my “Love” letters again before my semi-final game against Setif. From the same source. Guess from who? Unfortunately, I have turned this is into a motivation than a mental distraction,” he tweeted.
Back in March Mosimane accused Sundowns senior officials of furnishing him with lawyers letters owing to the agent’s fee collected by his wife and agent Moira Thlagale from Sundowns when he signed a new four-year deal with the club, but left just a few months into his new contract.
“Trott is still sending me lawyers' letters. These people [Sundowns] won't leave me alone. I've moved on,” Mosimane told journalists at the time.
