Al Ahly dropped points for the first time under Pitso Mosimane after playing to a goalless draw with Pyramids FC in their penultimate Egyptian Premier League match on Sunday evening.

Mosimane made four changes with one eye on their crucial CAF Champions League semi-final first-leg away to Wydad Casablanca next weekend, as Marwan Mohsen and Ayman Ashraf were not named in the squad, while Arabi Badr and Walid Soliman were named only named on the bench.
The Red Devils were on the front foot early on and came close to grabbing the lead in the sixth minute after Mohamed Kafsha unleashed a strike from the right side of the box that was saved by goalkeeper Mahdi Soliman.
Pyramids grew into the game midway into the first stanza but Aliou Dieng almost broke the deadlock for the hosts ten minutes before the break with a long-range strike that was saved by Soliman.
Ahmed Mansour found the back of the net for the visitors six minutes before the break but the goal was ruled out for offside after a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review.
There was more VAR drama just before the break as Mosimane's charges were reduced to ten men after Amr Soleya's yellow card was upgraded to red card for violent conduct.
Al Ahly had a glorious chance to go to the break with the lead after they were awarded a penalty for a handball inside the box deep in first-half stoppage time but Kafsha's spot-kick was saved by Soliman.
Pyramids were pressurising the Red Devils coming from the break and Ibrahim Hassan almost broke the deadlock for the visitors ten minutes inside the second stanza when his shot struck the frame of the goal
Kafsha came close to making amends for his penalty miss by snatching the winner but his strike from outside the box hit the post as the encounter ended all square in Cairo.
