Despite being confirmed as a Rangers player on October 5, Zungu was unveiled on October 28, after a two-week mandatory quarantine period, as per international Covid-19 regulations.
On Wednesday, the 28-year-old finally got to mingle with his new teammates at a training session guided by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard as the club prepares for a UEFA Europa League encounter against Lech Poznan on Thursday.
Ahead of what could be his Europa League debut, Zungu received a message from his former coach Mosimane, who converted the lanky player into a deep-lying midfielder, after signing him from the University of Pretoria in 2013.
Together, the duo managed to win three trophies including two league triumphs before Zungu departed for Portuguese outfit Vitoria Guimaraes in 2016.
“Top boy! Happy for you. Big club with lots of history, Keep your eyes on the ball, focus,” Mosimane posted on his official Twitter page.
