Mosimane arrived with the league practically won by his predecessor René Weiler, and with only four matches left to play, the former Mamelodi Sundowns coach finished the job, beating El Gaish 3-0 on the final day.
There were wild celebrations on the pitch, following their emphatic triumph, but it was a sad moment for the 56-year-old, as his side could not celebrate the victory with the fans.
“The former coaching staff played a great role in winning the title. Also, I would like to thank the players for their efforts during the whole season.
“I am very sad that our fans are not in the stands to celebrate the title with us and I wish to see them soon in the stands," Mosimane said on Al Ahly’s official website.

The former Bafana Bafana head coach and his charges will now turn their attention to the CAF Champions League final, where they will face either Raja Casablanca or Zamalek. Mosimane has reiterated his desire to secure the lucrative trophy for the club’s passionate supporters.
“We hope to win the CAF Champions League title to make our fans happy.
“We are committed to the CAF decisions and we hope that we can arrive in the CAF Champions League final in perfect shape without injuries,” Mosimane added.
