Mahlambi Going Nowhere Despite Pirates Rumours

Phakamani Mahlambi Will Not Be Joining Orlando Pirates

By Soccer Laduma - Jan 26, 2018 01:28 PM
Phakamani Mahlambi will not be leaving Al Ahly at all in the current transfer window as things stand, with both the club and his agent stating that he will remain there.

There had been talks of a possible loan move for the 20-year-old Bafana Bafana attacker given his lack of game-time at the Egyptian giants, with a return to South Africa being touted as a short-term option. There had been reports of a move to Orlando Pirates, reports that were subsequently denied.

However, with less than a week left of the transfer window, it certainly looks as though he will continue to fight for his place in the Al Ahly line up as they go in search of the league title this season.

The Siya crew spoke to Glyn Binkin, the player’s agent, who confirmed that there are no plans for him to leave on loan or on a permanent basis.

He said, “Al Ahly are happy with Phakamani and have indicated that they want to keep him at the club, so right now he’s not going anywhere this month. However, until the transfer window ends, anything can happen.”

Meanwhile, this week Ahly’s football director, Sayed Abdel Hafeez, told On Sport TV, “Phakamani’s case is totally closed. He will continue with us.”

Mahlambi has played seven games for Al Ahly this season since his move from Bidvest Wits, grabbing two assists.

even with jali there is no proof of any link with the big 3, as much as i'd love him back at pirates i still believe jali is europe material, jali is better or in the same calibre as the south africans playing in france, there is no reason for him to come back and compete with the likes of katsande and kekana

We didn't need him, linked to us by the media. At least Mahachi has signed a pre-contract with us. We are Orlando Pirates. More than just a football club. :))
