Watch Mahlambi Score First Al Ahly Goal

Phakamani Mahlambi Scored His First Competitive Al Ahly Goal Yesterday

By Joe Crann - Feb 09, 2018 07:43 PM @YesWeCrann
Phakamani Mahlambi became the first South African to score in the Egyptian Premier League last night as he helped Al Ahly to a 3-0 win against El Mokawloon.

The 20-year-old got handed a starting berth on Thursday evening as the Egyptian giants went 12 points clear at the top of the table, and repaid the faith shown in him by scoring the opener and assisting the second goal.

Mahlambi was playing his eighth league game of the season for Ahly after Hossam El Badry called upon him to start on the right wing, following up his goal in a friendly last week by making history for Mzansi in Egypt’s top-flight.

The Bafana Bafana international will now be eager to try and keep his place in the starting XI going forward, with his game-time this season having been relatively restricted up until this point.

Ahly face Mokawloon again on Monday night as they look to make it 10 wins in a row.

Check out Mahlambi's goal and assist in the video below:

things looking better for the future of bafana, youngsters getting abit of time and performing at the same time, we need a coach like micho who is not scared to introduce new blood, because all the coaches we had are always building from a bunch of losers team, mothiba, luther signh, mahlambi, tau, moon, forster, nshangase are all the forwards we should be used used to build bafana maybe mix with abit of your vilakazis, zwanes,

Well done boy, we are still expecting a lot from you. If you continue scoring and creating goals the coach will have no option than giving you the game time.
