The talented 20-year-old joined the Egyptian club earlier this year in a big money deal from Bidvest Wits, and while he scored on his friendly debut, he has been made to wait for his first official game due to their CAF Champions League campaign.
As part of their unsuccessful attempt to lift the CCL trophy, Ahly had many of their league games postponed in order to prepare properly for the competition, and with Mahlambi unregistered, for the tournament, he has been unable to play.
Now, however, he has been able to show the club’s fans a glimmer of what he is capable of, coming on against Ismaily to help them to a 2-0 win on Monday evening. He will now be looking to try and force his way into the starting XI.
‘Paka’ as he is known in Egypt, came on in the 63rd when the game was still tied at 0-0, playing a role as they put Ismaily to the sword to move up to seventh place.
Ahly’s next game sees them face El Daklyeh on Friday night.
